Kelly Osbourne looks so happy in a teensy floral Betsey Johnson bikini on the May cover of Self Magazine

The 28-year-old Fashion Police cohost is known for telling it like it is, whether behind the camera or sitting down for an interview.

Between takes of her fun and flirty photo shoot, Kelly tells Self all about her health scare while shooting Fashion Police, making a drastic lifestyle change, exactly how she lost all that weight, and how she couldn’t be happier.

Since 2009, the newly engaged Osbourne has lost and kept off over 70 pounds! She says dressing cute for the gym, being consistent with her cardio, eating healthy, and sweat, sweat, sweat have been key to maintaining her toned body.

Despite all the weight loss, she proves that she still keeps it real by rocking that quirky purple hair and ‘tude for days.

Check out excerpts from her interview below:

You had a seizure while taping Fashion Police. So scary! What happened?

It came as a complete surprise to me and to my doctors. After five days in the hospital and getting tests, they still didn’t know the reason beyond “sometimes these things happen.”

How did the experience change your mind-set?

I never want to take my good health for granted. The seizure was 60 seconds, but those 60 seconds will change my life for the better forever. I’ve worked hard to get into shape, and I’m going to continue. Not because being “skinny” is important to me, but because I want to feel good.

It’s obvious you’ve been working hard. Are you happy with where you’re at?

I’m the most secure and content I’ve ever been. Though I’m still very self-deprecating: I look in the mirror sometimes and I feel like going back to bed. Everyone has good days, everyone has bad days.

You’re so confident, though. What’s going on when you’re having one of those days?

I call myself a former fat person, and when you’re an FFP, you still see yourself as the person you used to be. That’s something I’m genuinely working on all the time.

How do you deal when you’re feeling insecure?

When you change your body, you start to get selfish. You’re like, Oh, but that’s still fat and that’s still gross and why can’t I look like that? To stop myself I have to look at how far I’ve come. I’ve learned how to eat right and look after myself. Also, I don’t weigh myself. If you like what you see in front of the mirror, then what’s the f—ing point of getting on a scale?
