Somewhere back in the ’60s and ’70s in San Francisco, London and New York City, punk was born. Since then, celebs have been dipping and dabbling in the edgy and bizarre trend. Debbie Harry, lead singer of Blondie was one of the first to master the female punk look.
Last night, all of the fashionistas came out to show us their best ways of making punk beautiful.
J.Lo gave her signature “Glow,” a punk smoky eye and amazing theme-appropriate hair (and may I add super age appropriate). Jennifer is always a stunner, her confidence, yet effortless swag is the reason why we love her memorable fashion choices. She truly owns her looks.
Speaking of stunners who own every look with a lasting impression, Gwen Stefani! Her punk makeup was amaze! (Peep the precision in that wing liner). Her hair is just as sleek and cool.
Kerry Washington has been shutting carpets down left and right. And she did just that while making a strong beauty statement: the purple streaks with matching purple smoky eye was punk rock with a rosy touch.
Next up is another actress who’s also a fixture on red carpets lately: Anne Hathaway. Her blonde cut and smudge lined eyes were the perfect match for her vintage Valentino. Who would’ve thought Valentino can look this punk and badass! Peep her amazing side boobs…
Eve rocked her look with a hot pink lip that is sure to be a trend! Love it paired with the smoky winged eye. The crimp/wave to the hair completed the awesome punk leather look on her dress.
And of course I cannot end this post without mentioning the stunning beauty herself, this year’s honorary co-chair, Beyonce. She’s always shining through her radiant skin and last night she took it up a notch (her eyeshadow slightly smoky with a hint of grey). The superstar opted to mainly display her take on the theme by working her custom Givenchy.
