Now this is interesting! The folks over at My Sick Uncle have mashed songs from Lil Wayne‘s album Tha Carter III with the indie soundtrack of the movie 500 Days of Summer. The album is called 500 Days of Weezy, which would sound very interesting if we didn’t know it was connected to the movie. While this may sound weird, it is definitely something to look into.

The soundtrack for 500 Days of Summer consists of indie singles from Simon & Garfunkel and the like. This DJ definitely had a great idea and thought of something that most probably was never thought of before. I do not think the words Lil Wayne and indie have ever even been in the same sentence!

What do you guys think about this? Would you rather have the typical mashups with two different songs that are similar or try something new? Is it possible for these two totally different types of music and styles to come together? Let me know what you think in the comments and check back everyday for more from Hip Hop Jesse.

This is just a short mashup of ‘A Story of Boy Meets Girl’ by Michael Danna and Rob Simonsen and a Katie Couric interview with Lil Wayne.

This one is of ‘Us’ by Regina Spektor and ‘Mrs. Officer’ by Weezy.
