Do you know any Flossers? You know what a Flosser is right?
Well a Flosser is person or group of people who mis-represent themselves for the sake of being thought of as popular, rich or being the ‘it’ girl or boy.
I know a few, quite a few actually which made me think I might be one too. So I took a step back and really looked at them and I also looked at me for a while and YEP I’m a FLOSSER TOO! It was a gradual change . . . making sure I was this party or wearing just the right shoes for ‘that’ event and next thing ya’ know I’m robbin’ Peter to pay Paul, getting behind in my car note and simply running out of money. . . All while looking fabulous!!!! . . . sad, sad, sad! but that was me and I learned some pretty tough lessons from it.
I mean reallly all the effort that I put into building up this facade I could have been building up something even greater . . . me! So, I had to get knocked around a bit and my ego was bruised a little but I’m all the better because of it.
My focus has shifted on being responsible and looking a little further than the weekend or the next party. I have a humbled sense of pride about me and what I want for myself. I no longer want to impress or belong . . .I want to succeed and grow, be of value and service.
Sure I’ve lost some friends along the way, but that’s their journey . . . not mine.
I want to make a difference and I will!!! . . . and all while looking fabulous!!!!
