Niggers still tap dancing into the New Year. It’s cool to celebrate and pop that champagne but you know I am concerned about this eight year hangover that millions of people now have from being too drunk on George Bush’s bullshit.

Fucked up economy means more despair in da streets. More poverty sucks. More pain in our communities. I know some of you want me to be quiet. But I’m not the silent type.  I am speaking out thru hip-hop for a more perfect union.

This is straight from da heart. I’m doing this blog again for my homies. Don’t worry, I ain’t crying. Did dat a long time ago. I am resolving to do better like I promised Russ.

On January 20th, a big governmental change will take place in DC. Will there be a change also felt here in da streets of NYC, or in Detroit, Philly and in Newark? Obama got a big ass load to help lift people out of the gutters of social neglect and hopelessness.

My Dad, Russell Simmons, is down there somewhere in St. Barts in the sunshine of prosperity. He is my inspiration. I read that blog that Katie Rost wrote about patience. I am glad for him and for her. Da streets here, however, is so tight. Paper is really scarce. Empty pockets are deep. I just heard on the news that bank robberies are up across the US. But that ain’t the solution to our problems.

I’m hungry for the food of truth. I thirst for the freedom of poetic expression. I’d like to bust a cap with sixteen bars. My raps changes minds about what some people think about. I try to shatter all those negative illusions and take back more responsibility to help my hood, family and myself. I’m grinding everyday. You know what I mean? This is just another page from my Street Diary.
