I sat down with R&B superstar Monica last week for some really intimate one on one time. During the interview we discussed a bunch of topics. In this clip you’ll hear Monica share a really personal story about putting her kids to bed and suddenly Soulja Boy’s name pops up to settle the debate between a mother and her children. Romelo: ‘Why don’t you like it when my shirts off?’
Monica: ‘What? What do you mean?
Romelo: ‘You know I look just like Soulja Boy when my shirt is off’

Monica also shares how moments like this with her children help to make her a better woman. ‘It was the funniest thing i’ve ever seen, but i think that i give them the freedom to be themselves and the fact that their complete opposites is funny in itself. One is doing something one is telling, one goes to the toy, one takes it, one goes to the piano the other one jumps on the drums. They just have this whole thing.’
Monica continues saying ‘I am just really blessed to have children because i think they recentered me for number 1 and number 2 they also gave me that unconditional love back and it has allowed me to be more responsible with the things that I say and do places that go… They really made me better.’
