There are a lot of tags on this brand new Jay-Z collaboration with Swizz Beatz, featured on Evil Empire’s upcoming mixtape Trending Topics 4, but we don’t care. It’s still new Jigga and Swizz, one of the best tandems in hip-hop today.
The beat is classic Swizz, hard hand claps and even referee whistle blasts, a’la Swizz’s early years as the Ruff Ryders camp in-house producer. As for Jay-Z, no rewind-worthy lines here, but we’re sure some stan is going to find a way to take one of his lyrics out of context and quote it in some real life situation because, well, that’s what die-hard Jay-Z fans do, and trust us, ‘Ultra’ is for die-hard Jay-Z fans only. The second verse he spits is a reference for Diddy, and should be featured in its final version on Diddy’s Last Train To Paris album, coming out July 6.
