A plot to shoot and bomb a Minnesota junior/senior high school was foiled when police zeroed in on 17-year-old John David LaDue, who had planned to kill his mother, father and sister, then create a diversion for first responders so he could wreak havoc on students in Waseca. Police say the teen had “intended to kill as many students as he could,” in the massacre, which he had reportedly been planning for 10 months. LaDue was arrested and charged with four counts of attempted first-degree murder, two counts of first-degree damage to property and six counts of possession of a bomb by someone under 18. The inmate who underwent a botched execution in Oklahoma also underwent some cruel and unusual procedures before the lethal injection took place. Clayton Lockett was reportedly Tasered by prison staff in an effort to restrain him when officers arrived to take him for X-rays. A short while later, officers found Lockett with a self-inflicted cut to his arm. And during the procedure, the medical staff could not find a suitable vein on any of his limbs, forcing them to use his groin instead. After 43 minutes, Lockett died of an apparent heart attack. Two Alaska State Troopers, who were featured in the reality TV show of the same name, were killed in the line of duty on Thursday while investigating a person brandishing a gun. Alaska Governor Sean Parnell said Gabriel “Gabe” Rich and Sergeant Patrick “Scott” Johnson died in a “horrific act,” but refused to provide additional details. Our condolences.
