When I was young and just starting off, I was in the game for what I could get. But as I got older, I learned that life is about what you can give.

The truth is, the work I put in to supply hot beats was the part of my life that gave me the most personal satisfaction. The second source of happiness and personal satisfaction were the happy fans. The last and by far the least source of happiness, if any, was the monetary compensation I received.

Yet, the fact that all the great prophets promoted this basic truth still has not made it the focus of our collective existence. A great number, if not most of the individuals on this planet, believe that giving is only good if you receive the same in return … that we only make those people happy who have the power to make us happy.

Jesus taught the masses that good givers are great getters because it was expedient, namely, that if you kept your head down in service, you could be successful and be able to pay the Romans their taxes on time.

But in actuality, he taught his disciples something slightly different: give to uplift your brother or sister and do it without expectation and you will find even greater joy, MAKE MORE AND NEVER HAVE TO HAVE A CONCERN ABOUT MONEY.  The more free they were with their gift, the greater was their return.  They were both spiritually and monetarily wealthy.

The same idea is taught over and over. In Hindu and yoga tradition, the goddess Lakshmi is the goddess of giving and you see her giving, and in return her feet are paved and surrounded by gold and diamonds.

This is today’s jewel. Give, give and keep giving without expectation! And the world will give you what you want.
