The saga continues! While the G.O.O.D. Music vs. YMCMB beef that primarily involves Pusha Tand heavy hitters in the Young Money camp may have fizzled a bit, there’s still a subliminal war going on that some hip-hop enthusiasts may be oblivious to.
In a recent interview with Hip-Hop Wired, Pusha revealed any qualms he has with Lil Wayneand Drake are a non-issue. He just hates being “disrespected,” and that sentiment applies to members of his “Clique” as well.
And if you presumed that the very competitive emcee’s verse on Cruel Summer‘s “New God Flow” was Pusha T taking shots at Wayne and Drake, think again…
“I wouldn’t piss on that n***a with Grand Marnier” was meant for another YMCMB member. No, not Nicki, but the five-star general Birdman.
“New God Flow” was about, in my view, something I read in a Birdman interview that I didn’t like. He said something like “G.O.O.D. Music isn’t nothing” and it had nothing to do with Wayne or Drake per se. That was Birdman saying whatever he wanted to say and that was the basis of where all of my lines came from. Everybody else was on their love of Hip-Hop s**t.”
Sometimes when someone gets you hot, you come up with something fire, and Pusha certainly did just that.
