Waka Flocka Flame has definitely been one of hip-hop’s most polarizing and controversial figures in 2010. Just a few days before his home was raided, GlobalGrind has the chance to speak briefly with Waka Flocka about what he’s been up to since releasing his album. It was definitely an interesting interview, so check out what he had to say!

Global Grind: What have you been up to since you released Flockaveli in October?

Waka Flocka Flame: Since Flockaveli dropped I’ve been up all night, all day working. I’ve been working working on my new album, touring, doing interviews, helping my labelmates out. I just started my own label Bricksquad Monopoly, man, I’m going crazy!

GG: You’ve started on the followup to Flockaveli already? Do you have a title for it?

Waka: Triple F – Friends, Fans & Family.

GG: Read that you were working on a Brickquad album with Gucci Mane, Wooh Da Kid, etc., is that still in the works?

Waka:  Yeah, man. That should be dropping in the beginning of next year.

GG: What about The Desperados album with Nipsey Hussle, Wiz Khalifa, etc.?

Waka: Nah, that was just something to do – we never said it was official.

Waka: Yeah, Pastor Troy was in the studio. It felt great, man, you grow up listening to somebody’s music and then you’re working with them. It felt good. For the next album, I’m gonna put more of me on there, the whole fam, that Bricksqaud Monopoly.

GG: What do you think is the biggest misconception about you?

Waka: That I’m illiterate, that all I do is promote violence, a lot of shit. I’m not gonna try to deal with that, but I’m going to to try to work on my people skills, and stuff I do out in public. I’m not really trying to change up how I am,  I just have to make better decisions, that’s it.

GG: What’s one decision you’ve made that you wish you hadn’t when you look back on it?

Waka: I don’t have any, really. Everthing I did – I love what I did.

GG: What are your thoughts on the state of hip-hop right now?

Waka: I think hip-hop is beautiful right now, man. Kanye West‘s album is crazy, it was worth the wait! It’s hard. I just let the whole thing play.

GG: Does listening to his album make you want to come harder on your next effort?

Waka: No, I came hard – I’m good, that’s Kanye. I can’t try to be that man, you know what I’m saying? I’m good.
