Russell Simmons has lent his voice once again in support of American Muslims in a new campaign that helps combat increasing levels of Islamophobia.

With the 10-year anniversary of 9/11 less than a month away, Russell Simmons has again pledged his support for the American Muslim community.
This time he has created a video that calls upon Americans to support the new online campaign, “My Fellow American.” This is a social media project that has received hundreds of real life stories from everyday Americans in the form of YouTube videos about Muslims they know and admire.
The project seeks to help dispel the fear and ever rising levels of Islamophobia in America by changing the cultural narrative from Muslims as the other, to Muslims as our fellow Americans.
