Last week when Halle started rocking a brand new ring, we began to wonder if the French Unfaithful actor had popped the question.
Then US Weekly seemed to confirm the rumors by reporting Olivier proposed with an emerald and diamond ring from Gurhan. A rep from the jeweler confirmed to Us that the bauble is a “one-of-a-kind” piece, and that the Oscar winner has purchased Gurhan jewelry in the past.

Well now it looks like the ring was just a gift and not a promise of engagement.
TMZ Reports:
Our sources say Olivier did indeed give Halle the ring as a gift, but it positively is not a symbol of getting engaged.
That said, we’re told Halle and Olivier are in a “committed relationship” and marriage “could be in the cards,” but as of last week — when the photo came out — they were not engaged.
Well, now we don’t know what to believe. Guess we will just have to wait until we hear it directly from Halle herself!
