A Chicago man was killed last night after succumbing to the injuries of multiple gunshot wounds.

The 23-year-old man, whose name has yet to be released, was shot after someone walked in to the Walgreens he worked in and opened fire.

HE HAS A NAME: Anthony Lane Jr. Shot To Death By 7-Year-Old

The incident took place last night at about 10 p.m.

According to the Chicago Tribune, the slain victim may have been an employee at the Walgreens branch:
The victim, who was shot in the head and body, was a security guard at the store, police said.
Police said the shooter, believed to be a former store employee, fled on foot. Nobody is in custody.
It’s unclear if the victim was a Walgreens employee or employed by a security firm.
A spokesperson for Walgreens declined to comment on the employment status of the 23-year-old man or the man police are seeking but said Walgreens would provide counseling for employees at their request.
“We are deeply saddened by this incident, and our thoughts and prayers are with our employees’ family,” said Robert Elfinger, spokesman for Walgreens. “We are providing information to the police and doing all we can to assist them.”
Police found the body on the ground outside the Walgreens next to a garbage can.

Our condolences are with the family of the victim during this hard time.
