The Bay Area has always been a hotbed of culture when it comes to setting trends and starting fads. Their slanguage has been jacked by countless rappers on all coasts, including the Dirty South. The music, though, is what makes them original. Peep this new track by Iamsu!, “Get It In.” It’s that bay area slap music that we’ve come to expect from this new generation or NorCal artists. The beat is courtesy of Nic-Nac, so get prepared to drop that bass, bass, bass…

Philly’s Meek Milly has the streets hotter than mid August, and we’re not even out of May yet! This week his DreamChasers 2 mixtape dropped with a few top choice selections, including a dope gospel-sounding track, “Amen.” Now, don’t get it twisted, the only gospel in this is the ghetto gospel words of Meek Mill, Drake and the chorus, done by Jeremih. All this under a looped church organ and piano sample that would make even Kirk Franklin and Deacon Frye proud. All jokes aside, though, this is going to be a monster smash in the club. Amen!

Chi-Town has been exploding lately with emerging new young talent. It’s only right that the OG Twista put some heat in the streets to remind everyone who put Chicago hip-hop on the map. Peep his latest offering featuring Tia London, “Ain’t Too Young.” It’s a tale that most men go through, watching a young girl around the way grow up into a woman worth getting at. Personally, I prefer cougars to cubs or old hens to spring chickens, but to each his own. This record should have come with a disclaimer. You definitely want to turn the volume on this track down sitting in your car at a BBQ, especially with teenage girls around. You could very easily be mistaken for the super wack and nasty pedophile type.

Ignorance season is officially here when you’re hearing Waka Flocka records blaring out of cars driving by. But hearing the likes of Maino and Waka on the same track means it’s straight “Mobbin”-season. I mean, just imagine these two and their entire crew’s coming through in a club… It’s like pull your car over and jump on the lawn! Maino and Waka are no strangers to riot music, but this may very well be illegal after they perform it together a few times.

Let’s keep it gully…This new Cam’ron record “Jungle” is the type of record that was made for cruising the hot summer blocks where the sun don’t always shine. Producer Butter Beats flips the mighty jungle song from the Lion King and turns it into an 808-trunk rattler. Harlem’s Killa Cam spits real street jungle tales with one of ATL’s wildest lions himself, The King T.I. This is must-hear music that you won’t hear on the radio or in the club…Until we read again.
