Songwriter/producer The-Dream has been making a lot of hot records lately.
NEW MUSIC: The-Dream & Pusha T “Dope Bitch”
Besides being the mastermind behind Rihanna’s “Birthday Cake,” The-Dream had his hand in Pusha T’s diss record to Lil Wayne, “Exodus 23:1.”
The two artists collaborated once again on The-Dream’s “Dope B*tch,” but MTV wanted to get the scoop behind the inspiration of Pusha T’s diss track.
When asked about “Exodus 23:1,” The-Dream responded:
“Great. great record. I think people don’t write great raps anymore. I wanted to be one of the ones that made him tap emotion. I actually had no idea . It took me and the clique by surprise. The thing is to write the best record. We welcomed whatever the backlash is, but this is hip-hop.There’s no backing down in hip-hop, it is what it is.”

The-Dream also denies that “Exodus 23:1” was about Lil Wayne stating, “I dont’ think anybody is that good to direct anything at anyone.”
He continues on by saying the only way to respond to a a diss record is “to make great records and no one can beat me at that.”
