Jay-Z forgot to watch his throne! Well not quite, but the Roc Nation CEO has just lost his Guinness World record title for most live shows in a 24-hour period to rock’s The Flaming Lips. The group recently did eight performances, beating Jay’s seven. Lead singer Wayne Coyne called the record ‘‘an absurd joy.” [Boston]

Akon has an upcoming album on the way entitled Stadium, but that isn’t until September 11th. Until then, fans of the platinum hitmaker can take a listen to his latest project Konkrete Jungle hosted by DJ Whoo Kid and Evil Empire.
