Alabama spitter Yelawolf and Ohio rapper MGK have something they can finally agree on other than their own beef – their disappointment with Interscope.

In a recent radio interview, Yela expressed frustration that Shady Records, an imprint in theInterscope staple, has not properly promoted his album Radioactive.

They have only released one of his singles over the past year, which has not made enough noise to make proper waves in the industry.

He expressed his discontent with the major label system and shed some light on how a “Do It Yourself” model may be the way to go for artists to retain control of their music careers:

“You don’t really fuckin’ need a label anymore; you don’t need a major label, you don’t need none of that shit. If they’re not absolutely working as a promotional company, as an engine to promote your music every single fuckin’ day. Because you’re on it every day. Your management, your publicist, your team is on it every day. So when you sign a contract, you better be damn sure that they have obligations to work your shit.”

MGK has also been in the news for taking shots at Interscope. Kelly claims the label forced him to record “Invincible,” a song he did not want to make because he felt he would be “selling out” just to have pop-crossover appeal.
