UPDATE: 1:30pm EST

More information on the report of Rodney King’s death has come forward including the coroner’s notes which suggested that King was “in a state of drug induced delirium” at the time of his death and either fell or jumped into the swimming pool.

The report continues, “The effects of the drugs and alcohol, combined with [King’s preexisting heart condition] probably precipitated a cardiac arrhythmia and [King], thus incapacitated, was unable to save himself and drowned.”
According to the report, King was naked and face down at the deep end of the pool when officials arrived on scene.

It’s been two months since Rodney King’s death and the official autopsy revealed today that not only did he die as a result of drowning, but alcohol, cocaine, marijuana and PCP were found in his blood.

According to CNN:

King, whose beating by Los Angeles police in 1991 was caught on camera and sparked riots after the acquittal of the four officers involved, was found dead at his Rialto, California, home on June 17, authorities and his fiancee said. He was 47.

The autopsy conclusion, which is being made public by the San Bernadino County coroner Thursday, is consistent with the Rialto, California, police investigation’s conclusion, Rialto Police Capt. Randy De Anda.

In 2011, King was a patient at Dr. Drew’s VH1 show Celebrity Rehab. Unfortunately it looks as though drugs still led to his death.
