Wait, this doesn’t make sense. We were promised a J.Cole album this month, dagnabbit!

We really thought that the January 28th release date for Born Sinner, J.Cole’s sophomore album, was going to stick. After all, he spent the last couple of months of 2012 dropping heat like “Miss America” and “Louis Vuitton.”

Turns out, it’s not dropping this month. The good folks at PopStopTV caught up with J.Cole at LAVO’s New Year’s Eve celebration the other night.

The interviewer asked Cole about his album and the project’s release date, and here’s what the rapper said:

“It’s not gonna be January 28th. It’s gonna be a little later than that, I needed more time for the tracks.”

Cole was also asked about what fans should expect from the project. Cole said:

“I don’t even know what they’re gonna feel. Hopefully, they’ll love it but I don’t know if it’s going to be the production, the stories, I can’t tell. Hopefully, they love everything about it.”

Fine, fine, so the album won’t come out January 28th. But maybe we can a February 5th date? Get on it, Cole!
