Can we depend on Nature’s Way?

On Sunday, a barge carrying 80,000 gallons of oil went tumbling over after crashing into a railroad bridge in Vicksburg, Mississippi.

Polluting the Mississippi River, the oil spill has caused an 8-mile waterway closing.

“Investigators are still trying to figure out what happened,” according to Lt. Ryan Gomez of the Coast Guard’s office in Memphis, Tenn.

The barges are owned by Third Coast Towing LLC and was pushed by the Nature’s Way Endeavor tugboat.

Environmental Services, a response-and-remediation company, is working on cleaning up the 80,000-gallon spill. The railroads have resumed as scheduled.

It’s pretty sad that our water and natural resources have been compromised in such a way; we pray that cleanup is swift and effective.
