Everyone should be able to get married. Everyone!

DETAILS: It’s A Miracle! 75 Republicans Say Gay Couples Have A Constitutional Right To Marry!

President Obama wasn’t blowing smoke when he said he will take on the challenge of granting the gay community the right to love who they please and shout it from the roof top at their very own matrimonial celebration. The Obama administration urged the U.S Supreme Court to abandon Proposition 8: the ban on gay marriage in California.

For the first time, the administration intervened in the four-year legal battle over Proposition 8 on the grounds that it is unconstitutional and does “not substantially further any important government interest.”

The commendable pro-gay rights stand taken by the Obama administration will, hopefully, create a domino effect in favor for the lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, and transgender community. Laws similar to the incorrigible Prop 8 will be challenged and forced to be reconsidered.

California Lawyer Theodor Boutous is agrees this is a step towards change. “The (administration’s) arguments, start to finish, would apply to other states,” said Boutous.

On March 26, 2013, the Supreme Court will hear arguments in reference to Proposition 8 and consider the federal Defense of Marriage Act the following day.

No challenge is made without oppositions. ProtectMarriage.com is not shocked by President Obama’s interference but feels it is a bit meddlesome.

The site’s lawyer Andy Ougno says, “The president has impugned the motives and actions of millions of Californians.”

Super Bowl Champ Brendon Ayanbadejo: “Not A Fight For Gay Rights, A Fight For Human Right!

Although this may be true, there are millions of other discriminating laws and practices state wide and they should not be tolerated or ignored due to the individual state’s beliefs that for their state, it’s acceptable.

Kudos to President Obama and the Obama administration for being the voice of the gay community. Change is near and we will keep meddling for equality.
