For those of you unfamiliar with this pop scene in Japan, which is just about all of us, Hatsune Miku is one of their biggest sensations. The catch is that she’s not really real. So basically the Japanese have created a certified superstar that doesn’t exist.

Miku is a 3D “Vocaloid,” which translates to her being a holographic projection with a computer-generated voice. Despite that, she interacts with fans, has concerts in sold out stadiums and is still a nationwide sensation.

For Miku’s upcoming appearance as an opera singer in The End, she will be trading in her usual school girl outfit for a head-to-toe look by Louis Vuitton

Marc Jacobs and Louis Vuitton will be outfitting the 3D superstar in custom checkerboard designs from Louis Vuitton’s Spring 2013 collection. A total of four looks were created for the opera whose cast will be comprised entirely of Vocaloids.
