It may feel like an eternity since the Boston Marathon bombings occurred and the manhunt for suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev ended, but in reality, it’s only been a week.

DETAILS: FINALLY! Boston Marathon Bombing Suspect, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, Awake & Responding

Now, seven days after the tragedy, the city plans to mark the anniversary with a moment of silence to remember those lost and injured.

Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick has asked residents to observe a moment of silence at 2:50 p.m. EST today, the time the first of the two bombs exploded near the finish line. Bells will ring across the city and state after the minute-long tribute to the victims.

Today also marks the first time many Boston residents are returning to their workplaces and schools after the dramatic shut-down of the city.
