Hey, GlobalGrind

Recently I have been continuing my television rounds spreading the good word of fitness, and I was on another segment on CBS “Live on the Couch,” training anchorman host John Elliot on the morning show “Fit Minute.”

During my segment, we learned how to do the exercise “Push Plates.” This is an exercise can be done anywhere, including in your home, or even your office (when your boss isn’t looking) and the best part is there is no need to spend lots of money.

The Push Plate is a great exercise that requires your lower body, arms, shoulders, abs, and triceps in order to successfully move the plate across the turf or the carpet. The two main muscles that will feel the most burn here are both the quadriceps and hamstrings.

You can do the Push Plate in timing intervals or in distance intervals, depending on your taste.

To properly do this exercise you should start by placing a plate or weight on a shirt/towel and then place the weight and towel on the turf/carpet. Bend over to place your hands on the plate as your feet will be on the ground in a staggered stance with hips elevated upward while up on the balls of your feet.

Next, is to drive one leg followed by the other leg in a running motion while keeping your hands on the place as you push it across the turf/carpet. Make sure to push against the ground with each step as you triple extend from the ankle, knee and hip joints. Keep your body at a 45 degree angle, then keep pushing the plate across the ground in a running form till you have reached your goal.

It sounds like a lot, but it’s a real beneficial workout. Please enjoy my morning show segment in the video above and keep sending me your comments and questions to www.facebook.com/TheKarimRamos

I truly appreciate it!
