Sizzling on-screen couple A$AP Rocky & Lana Del Rey had the streets buzzing about their portrayal of the Kennedys in Lana’s music video “National Anthem” last year, and their visible chemistry had us all wondering…did they ever take this love affair off screen?
A$AP gave a candid interview about his desire for the 27-year-old beauty and stated, “Lana wrote the treatment with me in mind. She wanted me to be the lead guy,” Rocky said. “S— is like, everybody knows we got a thing for each other and we wanted to show that on screen.”
The 1960s-inspired video portrayed A$AP as JFK and Lana Del Rey as the beautiful Jackie O. The two caressed and kissed on set all day as Rocky describes, “I was just me and it was like, ‘What if JFK met A$AP Rocky?’ And that’s what you got. She looked like Jackie O, and I was kissing the s— out of her all day.”
But what ever happened between these two New Yorkers after the video was over? Harlem native A$AP Rocky has since been touring, collaborating with different top artists and was even recently featured in Complex magazine as a “Fashion Killa” for his fashion choices. His most recent cameo lent tribute to friend Drake’s new release “Hold On, We’re Going Home.” He’s currently dating model Chanel Iman.
As for Miss Lana Del Rey, her album Born to Die: The Paradise Edition is out now and she has since been touring and writing beautiful music herself. One of her most popular songs to date is the anthem “Summertime Sadness” with lyrics “kiss me hard before you go,” solidifying her as one of the rawest and freshest talents to watch.
As for whether these two took their romance to the next level…we’re still unsure, but the magic that was created on screen seemed to be undeniable. We’ll stay tuned.
