We’ve been trying to tell you that President Obama is just like us.
He likes burgers. He likes basketball, and apparently popcorn. And now we’re learning that the Commander-in-Chief of the United States is a huge Breaking Bad fan as well.
In fact, according to the New York Times, the president is binging on a marathon of the popular show, trying to make his way through the box-set when he has down time. And though Walter White’s reign might have come to an end, he is sure to remind those around him not to spoil the ending.
But Breaking Bad isn’t his only television obsession. He’s also a fan of House of Cards and is eagerly awaiting the second season of Kevin Spacey’s show, which focuses on a Democrat who, after getting passed over for appointment as Secretary of State, decides to exact revenge.
“I wish things were that ruthlessly efficient,” Obama was overheard saying to Reed Hastings, the Netflix CEO, who invited the president to do a cameo on the show, the New York Times reports.
Obama joked of the sleazy, congressman-murderer Mr Underwood, “This guy’s getting a lot of stuff done.”
Both shows may have a place in the president’s heart right now, but when it comes to greatest of all time, it’s always HBO’s The Wire. He’s remarked that it is one of the greatest television shows of all time.
