You guys, we had it all wrong–beauty is not in the eye of the beholder, in fact, it’s actually right at your fingertips. Or your index fingertip to be exact.
Just when we thought things couldn’t get any more stupid than evaluating the space between our thighs to determine whether or not we have the perfect figure, the “finger trap test” has started over 200,000 discussions on Weibo, the Chinese social networking site, and become the latest trending topic in beauty standards on the internets today.
According to Vocativ, thousands of Weibo users are uploading their results, which are basically just a bunch of pictures of themselves with their fingers up to their faces to see whether or not their lips touch them–depending on the conclusions, you’re either pretty or ugly … because science. Or something.
The test, also known as the “Beauty and Ugliness Identification Method,” is pretty simple:
- Extend your index finger.
- Place your index finger against the tip of your nose.
- Align and rest it against your chin.
Do your lips touch your index finger? Then congratulations, no one cares! Because this is stupid. So whoever is believing this bull can take that finger and shove it.
