When Women’s Weekly released the cover photo for their July issue, it was expected that yet another celebrity would be featured on its cover. However, Women’s Weekly Magazine in Australia instead featured something shocking on its July issue.

The cover features Turia Pitt, a former model turned engineer who was severely burned over 65 percent of her body after a bush fire broke out while she was competing in an ultra-marathon event. Pitt was selected to be the cover girl as one of the magazine’s remarkable women in their article about “Women of the Future.”

The magazine’s goal was to exhibit beauty and strength no matter the circumstance, as well as speak up for other women who may have suffered similar incidents. Pitt also believes that being on the cover will send a positive message to other women about the importance of confidence and strength.

“For me, it sends the message that confidence equals beauty. There are a lot of women out there who are so beautiful but don’t have the confidence, and that’s what gets you over the line,” she said.

Take a look at the bold and beautiful cover as Puria Pitt stands tall and proud.
