On Tuesday, Arizona politician Adam Kwasman practically stormed a school bus full of YMCA campers because he believed they were undocumented children.

He passionately tweeted about the bus full of “fearful” kids, was caught on video approaching the bus with his anti-immigration protestor friends, and defended his decision even after he realized the children were American.

Yes, that happened. And if there was ever an incident that proves just how anti-immigration (read minority) some Americans are when it comes to protecting these children in a humanitarian crisis, the attempted take-down of a bus full of kids is it.

And not that we need any other examples of this intolerant and despicable rhetoric, but just in case you need some ammo in the fight to protect the nearly 57,000 children that have crossed the border in the past year, here are the bat-shit crazy things members of the GOP have to say about the issue.

Must suck to always be on the wrong side of history.

They Carry Diseases:

From Representative Phil Gingrey (R-GA): “Reports of illegal immigrants carrying deadly diseases such as swine flu, dengue fever, Ebola virus and tuberculosis are particularly concerning,” Gingrey wrote. “Many of the children who are coming across the border also lack basic vaccinations such as those to prevent chicken pox or measles.”

Too bad Central American kids crossing the border are more likely to be vaccinated than children in Texas.

They Are Rapists And Gang Members:

From Florida Republican Rep. Rich Nugent: “A lot of these children … quote-unquote … ya know, the first caller mentioned it, ya know, they’re gang members. They’re gang affiliated,”  said on WOCA radio Monday. “Listen, if you’re 14, 15, 16, 17 years old, and you’re coming from a country that’s gang-infested — particularly with MS-13 types, that is the most aggressive of all the street gangs — when you have those types coming across the border, they’re not children at that point. These kids have been brought up in a culture of thievery. A culture of murder, of rape. And now we are going to infuse them into the American culture. It’s just ludicrous.”

Guess he didn’t know that among the thousands of children that cross the border, many are under the age of 8.

They Are Invading America:

From Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX): “Even with $3.7 billion that’s requested, there’s no way for what’s being called for is going to stop the invasion that’s occurring. That’s why I’m hoping that my governor will utilize Article 1, Section 10, that allows a state that is being invaded — in our case more than twice as many just in recent months, more than twice as many than invaded France on D-Day with a doubling of that coming en route, on their way here now under Article 1, Section 10, the state of Texas would appear to have the right, not only to use whatever means, whether it’s troops, even using ships of war, even exacting a tax on interstate commerce that wouldn’t normally be allowed to have or utilize, they’d be entitled in order to pay to stop the invasion.”

Damn that Christopher Columbus and his privilege.

That They’re “Mail:”

Oh, we get it. Mail = non-human = not a humanitarian crisis we have to deal with. Noted.
