After a short social media hiatus, singer Miley Cyrus found herself the latest victim of a celebrity death hoax.
Rumors began swirling after a photo that allegedly showed an overdosed Miley alongside the attention-grabbing headline:
“{SHOCKING} Miley Cyrus Found Dead In Her Los Angeles Home!”
Fortunately, the photo was fake and Miley is alive and well. According to MTV Australia, the hoax was actually an elaborate Facebook scam “designed to lure people to click through and spread online surveys to make money.”
Amid the rumors, Miley resurfaced on Instagram to show off her new ‘do – well, sort of. The singer sported a braided bun wrapped with a rainbow rubber band bracelet featuring a photo of her late dog Floyd. She was also sporting some faux hair, dyed various colors of the rainbow and braided.
Always looking to up the shock-factor, Miley saw her rainbow braids and raised a topless photo. The “Bangerz” artist posted this shot showing followers how she keeps cool in the middle of nowhere:
