Everyone thought she was teasing the music video for “All Hands On Deck,” but RCA recording artist Tinashe released a visually stunning eight-minute-long video for her emotional Aquarius ballad “Bated Breath” instead.
In a recent interview with W Mag, Tinashe revealed she didn’t receive any help from the label; instead she teamed up with famed videographer Stephen Garnett to direct her own music video.
“So when I know my label’s not going to produce music videos, I’ll either make them myself or I’ll find people that I think are cool and reach out to them directly. I’m like, ‘Fuck it. I’ll just do it.’”
Tinashe’s self-directed visual was shot in the Mojave Desert and features the “2 On” singer navigating through the sienna-colored sand dunes to an unknown destination.
