After the fatal shooting of Roanoke, Virginia journalists Alison Parker and Adam Ward during a live broadcast on Wednesday, a series of items that could allude to a larger plan were found in the getaway vehicle of alleged gunman Vester Flanagan.

Authorities reportedly found a to-do list, a wig, a white iPhone, ammunition, and 17 stamped letters in the vehicle used after the shooting. Police also found a briefcase with three license plates inside, an umbrella, and a shawl.

According to NBC News:

On Wednesday, Enterprise told NBC News, “When situations involve the police, we always – as a matter of policy – refer all related media queries to the local authorities. They are in the best position to know all of the facts and which details should and shouldn’t be publicly shared.”

In addition, police found “assorted handwritten and typed letter/notes” and a “bookbag w/ random papers / cards,” the affidavit said.

The vehicle was recovered at the airport about four hours after Flanagan ended the police chase by taking his own life. The investigation shows that he also texted a friend at some point during the ordeal about having done “something stupid.”

Authorities have not released any information about what the items in the car could possibly mean. Flanagan was pronounced dead at Innova Fairfax Hospital at 1:26pm on Wednesday.
