Over the years, Common has been fairly open about his high-profile relationships with stars like Serena Williams and Erykah Badu.
So it seemed a little mysterious when rumors surfaced that the Oscar-winning rapper was in a relationship with Regina Hall, because he never publicly acknowledged their romance. Judging by his recent comments about the relationship with his Barbershop 3 costar, he never acknowledged the courtship because they were never a couple.
During a sit-down with “The Breakfast Club” on Wednesday, Common revealed, “[Regina] is just my people—that’s just my buddy. We never were in that space—you know, that’s just like somebody I care about as a friend. We worked together and right now I’m just single, so.” He continued, “It was just like you know point-blank just friends. She’s funny, super cool, beautiful.”
As for whether or not Regina Hall actually has a man, the actor said, “I don’t know. She probably does, but that’s my buddy. I’m single, so you know.”
