Datwon: The saner half of the legendary Outkast duo, Big Boi, signed with the mighty Def Jam records label. It seems like LA Reid has been on a buying spree inking the recently released from prison rapper Shyne in a an unconventional process of flying to Belize to get the MC locked in.
Big Boi however was an easier get. LA and Big Boi made history together over at Arista Records back when record sales actually meant something. Outkast as a group always pushed the limit on what the hip-hop audience would accept musically and visually from soundbeds to styleheads. It’s going to be a great treat to see what Big Boi can bring to the Def Jam label that seems to win with hardcore rappers and love struck male singers.
We have been waiting for the Sir Luscious Left Foot: The Son Of Chico Dusty for years now. I just knew that Big Boi was gonna beat 3000 in the ‘who’s gonna release a solo album first’ race. Now with this signing I might be able to cash in on my winnings.
