If we have learned anything in this past week it is that being Bobby Brown just ain’t easy.

On February 11th, just hours after the news of his ex-wife Whitney Houston’s death was released, Bobby Brown hit the stage to perform with his group, New Edition. Now yesterday, after abruptly departing from Whitney’s funeral service at the New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, Bobby embarked on a 4-hour drive and hit the stage once again.

According to E! Online,

The late icon’s ex-husband hit the stage Saturday night with his group New Edition for a concert in Connecticut, and he found a touching way to acknowledge her.

The singer joined his bandmates on stage at the Mohegan Sun Arena three songs in, to serenade the sold-out crowd with “Hit Me Off.”

Bobby not only received a standing ovation but took a moment and raised a finger heavenward in honor of the legendary songstress, offering: “Blessings to my ex-wife, Whitney Houston. I love you.”

After Houston’s death, the status of Brown’s participation on tour was understandably uncertain after he missed performances in Cincinnati and Nashville and then regrouped days later for shows in Memphis, Baltimore and Greensboro and now at Mohegan Sun.
