We watch her sing, dance and even make us cry, and now she is taking her acting skills to the big screen!

Lea is currently one of the starring roles in the new movie New Year’s Eve alongside many stars, including Ashton Kutcher.
She steals the spotlight in the movie with her musical numbers where she even teams up with Bon Jovi! Now Lea is being heard through the surround sounds in movie theaters across the country.

We got to talk with Lea at the premiere of her film and we chatted about being a New Yorker during New Year’s, how we can do better in 2012, and her next plans for Glee!

GlobalGrind: How was it working with everyone from Bon Jovi to Ashton Kutcher?!
Lea: Such a great experience, I feel so lucky. I could not have picked such a better film to be my first.
Is it great to incorporate your talents as a singer to the film?
Yeah that was really nice. I hadn’t planned on singing in a film unless it was really perfect and fit properly, but this just did so I’m happy.
This is a huge cast of people, but a lot of you are New Yorkers, including yourself. How are you able to relate to this great New Year’s Eve extravaganza being brought to film?
Being a New Yorker, New Year’s Eve is such a special holiday for the city. So it was just another reason why it meant so much to me.
If you had to speak for all of us as Americans and a world community, what do you think that we could do better in 2012 then we did this year?
I think we can take better care of our animals. That’s my opinion.
What are your plans for after Glee? Will you record your own music?
I feel like right now I am getting to work with the best producers, singing the best songs and so I feel like I am scratching that itch right now already on Glee. But I definitely think that it is something I will do down the road for sure.
Any holiday plans?
Be in New York with my mom and my dad and be in the city. I’m just excited to be in New York for the holidays. It’s the best time of the year.
