The purple carpet at the CFDA Fashion Awards last night saw some black and white action in the form of Victoria Secret model Angela Bellote and hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons. Bellotte, a vision in stoic beauty, was dressed in a white goddess inspired gown while the godfather of hip-hop rocked white shell-toed Adidas and a tuxedo.
It was a great night for hip-hop which saw the couple, representing the genre’s transcendence as the unifier of cultures, and the likes of Kanye stunting at fashion’s version of the Oscars. The rapper presented Celine designer, Phoebe Philo, with the international award.
