The always beautiful Jennifer Hudson and Russell Simmons chatted away last night about the Art for Life benefit for Russell’s Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation, at which the Grammy award winning artist is set to give a special performance.

According to Hamptons Magazine, Jennifer Hudson also discussed her new album with Russell saying it’s “definitely more (her) musically.”
The multiplatform artist is the perfect performer for the Art for Life event because she “approaches everything as art” and refers to herself as the “two-way artist” because she sings and draws.
The singer goes on to say,
“Even when I sing, I say, ‘Ok, I’m going to look at myself as an instrument and I’m going to singe in the way that I want to be felt.’ I don’t look at every song as a song – some songs are a story, some songs are a testimony.”
Jennifer and Russell both agree that art encompasses so much of their lives that without it, they wouldn’t know where they would be in life.
Like Russell, Jennifer is also a philanthropist and gushes about her foundation that donates school clothes, Christmas gifts, school supplies, shoes and other essential items to children that can’t afford it.
The 12th annual Art For Life benefit event will be held at Russell Simmons’ East Hampton estate this weekend.
The star-studded charity fundraiser is set up to help support Simmons’ Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation, which is dedicated to giving disadvantaged young people the opportunity to practice and appreciate art.
