That’s all you really have to say. Coachella is the biggest music festival in the United States, and the show just popped off a couple of hours ago.
One of the very cool things about Coachella is that the regular, highly intoxicated and drugged up folks can mingle with the highly intoxicated, drugged up celebrities.
It’s been like this since the music festival first came to the scene back in 2001. However, that point has really been stressed now that there’s Twitter and Instagram.
Here are examples of celebrities enjoying Coachella over the past couple of years.
In 2009, Amy Winehouse was supposed to be one of the headliners of Coachella; however, the singer had to cancel due to legal issues. At that point, Amy was a Coachella regular. In 2007, you can see the singer kicking it with famous actor Danny DeVito.
That Azealia Banks: she hangs out in the coolest looking circles. Last year, the rapper rocked out at Coachella and while there she found time to kick it with Florence from Florence + Machine.
Beyonce had the time of her life during Coachella 2010. Not only did she join her husband Jay-Z for a performance of “Forever Young,” but she was seen spazzing out in the crowd. We’re sure there were no drugs used, however. Beyonce is a good girl.
During Coachella 2010, when Jay wasn’t tearing the stage down, the legendary MC could be seen roaming the premise, like when he bumped into Ira Tuton of Yeasayer. (But beware, that little white bodyguard dude is always close by.)
Last year, Wiz Khalifa was one of the many rappers to perform at Coachella. He was also in the crowd when the greatest Coachella moment went down: Tupac came out as a hologram during Dr. Dre’s closing set. The rapper would admit to MTV later that the thing f*cked him up, saying: “I don’t know, it kinda freaked me out.”
There’s no celeb who loves Coachella like our girl Katy Perry. Last year, Katy Perry was seen having a blast with her plaything at the time, Robert Ackroyd. (She was also seen blowing down something niccce.) Katy must have been tripping out when she saw the Tupac hologram, because she tweeted this:
Remember when we just said no celeb has more fun than Katy Perry at Coachella? Yeah, we were wrong, cause that girl Vanessa Hudgens was having a ball last year. She also looked quite faded, if we do say so ourselves.
That girl Rihanna was WILDING last year. When she wasn’t kicking it with Katy Perry, she was rolling up weed on some random dude’s head. She sums things up perfect with this Tweet:
And, finally, there’s no photo proof, but this story is too good for us not to add. Recently, Justin Timberlake talked about being at past Coachellas and tripping out on drugs while he was there. This is what he had to say:
“I’ve been to Coachella many times, on many different, um, substances. I’ve been to Coachella many times but not remembered a lot of it, I’ll leave it at that. But I remember I used to go to Coachella a long time ago… Like, I stood in an open field and one year I saw Nine Inch Nails and the next year I saw Weezer and I was standing in the middle of the field, you know, like tripping my mind out.”
