After being released from jail in November 2010, Lil Wayne picked up the hobby of skateboarding to keep his mind on staying sober. 

Since then, Lil Tunechi has seemed a little distant from the rap game and quite frankly, his status in the game has diminished considerably over the past few months. 

In a recent interview with DJ Drama, Lil Wayne revealed why he was taking a break from rap: 

“I kinda feel like I deserve that. I feel like the fans deserve a lil’ no Wayne. I’ve been everywhere. I’ve been out on everybody’s song, I’m still on everybody’s song, my artists are doing awesome. I believe the fans deserve some peace from me. I be on my skateboard in the meantime.”

GlobalGrind’s known something was up with Lil Wayne for some time now, but we’re glad he finally came clean and confirmed that rap is no longer a priority for him at this time.
