Drug kingpin Rick Ross is letting the rapper Rick Ross knows who’s boss.

DETAILS: Rick Ross Vs. Ricky Rozay: The Real Rick Ross Suit Underway

Despite getting his 2010 lawsuit against rapper Rick Ross thrown out, a California judge decided that the Real Rick Ross’ claims of Ricky Rozay unlawfully profiting from his name and reputation is a valid suit.

The former drug kingpin was originally given a life sentence in 1996 for drug trafficking, but the sentence was subsequently reduced to 20 years after a federal appeal.

Now, the real Rick Ross has turned his life around as a community advocate and is seeking $10 million for rapper Rick Ross’ use of his name.

Despite getting his lawsuit picked back up, a judge in California has decided to throw out the suit.

TMZ Reports

Rapper Rick Ross can keep his name, thanks to an L.A. County Superior Court judge who shut down a bid from former drug dealer Freeway Rick Ross who tried to hoard the name.

Freeway Rick Ross had filed suit against the rapper, claiming ownership of the name.  In fact, the rapper has strongly intimated in his song his name was inspired by the drug dude.

But the judge today ruled Freeway Rick has no case, and threw the lawsuit out.

Guess it’s a good day for Ricky Rozay and a bad day for the real Rick Ross.

Either way someone wasn’t going to be happy, but should Rick Ross stop using the real Rick Ross’ name?
