Many people think that Born to Die, which drops this Tuesday, is Lana Del Rey’s debut album.

DETAILS: Lana Del Rey Covers Complex February/March 2012 Issue

This, however, isn’t true.

Back in 2010 Lana Del Rey released a little known, low budget independent album using the alias Lizzy Grant

The album, which only cost around 10 grand to make, was never really officially released, but it was on iTunes for a couple of months.

Even though critics of the singer use the Lizzy Grant album as proof that the current, re-invented Lana Del Rey we see now is a fraud, the pouty singer has a different way of looking at it.

She has nothing to hide about that album.

In fact, Lana says that she plans to release the album after Born to Die has its run.

“People act like it’s so shrouded in mystery, the ‘forgotten terrible album’. But if you look on YouTube, all 13 tracks are available with millions of views, so it’s not like no one’s heard them. We were all proud of it. It’s pretty good. I’m re-releasing it, maybe in late summer.”
