Resign? Anthony Weiner isn’t going anywhere, even though the pressure continues to mount for the New York Congressman to step down after he confessed that he had been sending lewd photos of himself to women via Facebook and Twitter.
An investigation has been called on the Congressman by House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi to determine whether or not Weiner used government funds during his Twitter and Facebook exploits.
Of course, many Republicans are calling for the Congressman to resign immediately. Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus was the first official to call on Weiner to resign. According to Priebus, “Congressman Weiner’s actions and deception are unacceptable and he should resign. We do not need an investigation to know he lied and acted inappropriately, we need a resignation,” Priebus said in a written statement.

As far as Weiner’s own party is concerned, former DNC chairman Tim Kaine weighed in saying, “Lying is unforgivable. Lying publicly about something like this is unforgivable and he should resign.” Weiner, however, maintains that he will not resign and stay at his position as U.S. Representative for New York’s 9th congressional district.
