Amanda Knox’s verdict from her appeals case of 2011 is in.

She has been found NOT GUILTY of murder. She was found guilty of smaller counts, but will be released from prison, as she will receive time-served. She will be allowed to leave Italy immediately.

The judge says Knox has won her appeal, she is cleared. Raffaele Sollecito is also cleared. He says the evidence is “not reliable” and cannot be sustained.

According to witnesses inside the court room, Knox collapsed in tears after the verdict was read out, while some of the courtroom erupted into applause.

Knox’s passport has expired while she was in prison but is expected to spend night at a house outside Perugia and then return to Seattle on Tuesday.

STORY: Amanda Knox Pleads Her Innocence In Italian Murder Case

Knox, 24, was convicted of murdering her 21-year-old roommate Meredith Kercher in 2007 while studying abroad.

Knox tearfully told the court earlier today:

“I’ve lost a friend in the worst, most brutal, most inexplicable way possible. I did not kill. I did not rape. I did not steal. I wasn’t there.”

Knox and her former boyfriend, co-defendant Raffaele Sollecito, were convicted in 2009 of sexually assaulting and murdering Kercher, who was stabbed to death in her bedroom.

Knox was sentenced to 26 years in prison while Sollecito was sentenced 25 years. They both denied any wrong-doing.
