Remember the “Man vs. Wild” producer that got bit by the snake? And his foot did this?

Well, now, Steve Rankin is telling his horrific story.

According to TMZ:

“I was scouting locations in Costa Rica … As I was traversing through some deep jungle I was bitten on the foot by a Fer-de-Lance. It’s one of the deadliest snakes in the world and the fangs went right through my boot.”

He said his team then hustled him for two miles on a makeshift stretcher, drove to a helipad and had him airlifted to a San Jose hospital. There, he got antivenom and antibiotics. But then this happened:

About 5 days later the flesh in his foot started to rot. Surgeons in Costa Rica had to cut away a serious chunk of it.

But thankfully, he’s OK now. He was rushed back to L.A. for skin grafts and he says he’s recovering nicely now.

But he’s still out there in the wild shooting an upcoming Discovery show “Naked and Afraid,” which drops 2 nude survivalists in remote locations and films their struggle to stay alive.

So basically, dude didn’t learn his lesson. Let me tell you, I am NOT about that nature life. More power to him and we’re glad he’s OK.
