The Alexander Wang presentation yesterday at Pier 94 was all about girls who want to get off road and dirty! The designer, who usually makes up the holy trinity of young asian designers with Jason Wu and Prabal Gurung, sent clothes inspired by Motocross down the runaway!

Wang’s models walked in mesh, helmets and prints, a sign that the collection is not for the ladies with faint of hearts. Which isn’t surprising given that Wang’s taste in music, as of late, is of the urban variety, which is to say, edgy.
The Wang Girl of 2012 is not really a Tomboy, she just knows how to take care of herself. The clothes she will wear are prints and sporty. She will be covered in florals but she will not be pushed around!
Accessories of Wang’s collection include pointy pumps, bandannas, and oversized weekender bags, all made by Wang. Hair for the show was by done Guido Palau for Redken and Sultra; and make-up was done by Diane Kendel for MAC.
