What: Nike+ SportWatch GPS

Made By: Nike

What It Does: Keeps track of every possible thing a runner could need to maximize his/her performance.

Price: $199

As the weather heats up, people who have been putting off running all winter are finally making their way back out and working up a sweat. Nike has come up with the perfect accessory for every runner out there. Their Nike+ SportWatch GPS has finally been released nationwide and is flying off of the shelves. The difference between the Nike+ SportWatch GPS and Nike’s current Nike+ sportbands is that in addition to it monitoring your distance, pace, speed and run history, once uploaded, it can give you GPS based information such as distance, elevation and location. That’s because this updated watch is powered by the navigation system TomTom. This allows runners to map out their runs based on geographical area and maximize their performance. Not bad for a company who stopped making watches.

What: iPhone Radiation dock

Made By: RDTN

What it Does: Measures radiation in a particular area.

Price: Still in the prototype stage.

With the radiation issues brought on by the earthquake in Japan, many Japanese residents are worried about the levels of radiation in their day-to-day lives. To help ease their nerves, one collective has come up with a portable Geiger counter that docks with an iPhone. By calling your iPhone, you can listen to the familiar clicks that tell just how much radiation is present in a particular area.  Its Glass Geiger Tube can detect beta and gamma radiation and then the accompanying iGeiger computes Counts Per Minute (CMP) in order to calculate the amount of radiation in a given area.
