“The only stupid question is the one not asked.”

We don’t necessarily believe that’s true. The first major debate of the 2012 Republican Presidential race was held yesterday in Manchester, New Hampshire. The two hour debate should have focused more on what the Republicans are going to do to oust President Obama from office. However, the real debate was filled with the “stupid” questions that tuned into each candidate’s personality.

How much can you really tell about a candidate after a “Stupid Question”?

During CNN’s moderator John King’s “This or That” section, he asked candidates “Stupid” questions, leaving them with only two options.

Rick Santorum, the former Pennsylvania senator, was asked, “Leno or Conan?” He replied “Neither.”

Michele Bachmann was next and couldn’t decide between Johnny Cash and Elvis. “Oh that’s really tough. Both,” she answered.

The biggest laugh came when King asked former pizza chain owner Herman Cain, “Deep dish or thin crust?” He replied “Deep dish is best.”

The oldest candidate, 75-year-old Ron Paul, gave the impression he had no idea what King was talking about when he was asked “BlackBerry or iPhone?” He responded BlackBerry.

The history of “This or That” questions has changed people’s views on presidential candidates. Their answers make you wonder if the debate is vital to your vote or help you witness how clueless a candidate can be!

Check out other politicians who have been asked “Stupid” questions.

Barack Gets Lifted:

Barack Obama was getting some unusual questions from voters in Iowa. At one event, a man asked him about his past marijuana use. This is always a question politicans get asked when they run for office.

Old Charlie:

Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-N.Y.) had a few choice words for MSNBC’s Luke Russert. It wasn’t necessarily a stupid question but Rangel took it as one. In fact, it was a great question!

Mama Grizzly:

This question may have been stupid to Palin, but it wasn’t to the people who watched it. Palin couldn’t name a single newspaper she reads. This was the first gotcha question in the line of many.
