Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake star in the new crazy comedy “Bad Teacher.”

In the trailer to this movie, you see drinking in the classroom, hitting kids in the face with balls and boob jobs. Hilarious, right?

GlobalGrind sat down with Cameron and Justin to discuss their new film which opens June 24th in theaters everywhere, check it out below.

GlobalGrind: What made you choose these roles?

Justin Timberlake: It’s a comedy. It’s Cameron and she’s a bad teacher, man.

Cameron Diaz: She’s a woman with no morals and no qualms, looking to take the easy way out. There’s very little arc, as you see it’s a very modest arc, from where she begins to where she ends. Throughout the whole thing, it’s a movie we made to make people laugh period and clearly we mad ourselves laugh. Delacorte (Justin’s character) is one of those guys who is easily swayed. He doesn’t really hold his own opinion too strongly. He’s kind of looking to see which way the water flows to see whether or not he should jump in and take it all the way to the waterfall, just because he sort of doesn’t really have a backbone. But he’s really fun. Right?

JT: Yeah, I think that was very accurate. When I first read the script I was very apprehensive because I was like this character is absolutely transparent. I don’t know what’s happening with him, I don’t know what’s going on with him. I cannot put my finger on it. And then I read it again and I was like also that’s kind of funny. So basing the character off of that, being funny, to me there was kind of a lot of ways to go. The thing that’s great about him is that you don’t have to commit to anything. You can kind of go whichever way. She’s definitely committed. If being genius, if being really smart is finding ways to make everybody think that you’re not smart enough to do any work, that’s Elizabeth Halsey.

Why did you love the script?

CD: I think that parts like this do not come around very often for anyone man or woman. It was such a well written script, with every part of it that worked. That doesn’t happen very often. In the world of making movies you’re often trying to fix some stuff as you go and nothing needed to be fixed on this. It was just perfect and we had an amazing group of people who wanted to be a part of it.

This character’s just one of those. I couldn’t pass it up. The first 30 pages I was like, there’s no way I’m doing this. I can’t play this character, she’s despicable and by the end of it I was like, ‘Yes!’ The greatest thing is that they don’t redeem her and there’s no apology in the end. That just doesn’t happen. Usually the last 20 pages of the script are apologizing for the first 80 or 100 and it’s not fun. What’s fun is that this person just doesn’t apologize because a lot of people don’t and that’s how it goes, there are no repercussions for her.

Was there ad-libbing?

CD: There was a little bit of ad-libbing. There was Jake always throwing in lines as we were going along. Their lines are so much better than anything I could come up with. It was so well written and it had such a great rhythm that you didn’t really want to mess with it.

What was it like working with the Cast of ‘Bad Teacher’?

CD: Every person in this cast is a genius comedian. There’s nobody in there that doesn’t deliver a fantastic performance and an unforgettable character. Lucy is phenomenal, she’s such a weirdo. What I love about all the characters is that they start off one way. Elizabeth is transparent, she’s clear, you know who she is from the beginning and she doesn’t change. Everybody else you start off thinking that you know who they are and by the end of it you’re like, wait a second, what is this person all about? What a weirdo.

How did you get through the takes without laughing?

CD: We’re having so much fun. We’re laughing; I mean you have to laugh through a movie like this. You can’t keep it straight. It really is one of those moments with Jason and Justin. Whenever I was with the two of them working, there’s moments when I was like I am never going to get through this take. I’ll look over here I’ll look down and then I’m doing this and they’re like cut, we know you’re laughing! You can’t help it, it’s just so funny. It’s really, really fun. It was a great movie to make, everyone’s wonderful.
